If you are looking for window shaped shutters or door shutters for your home then please do get in touch. Please read on for more information about some of the different ways there are to treat awkward window shapes or bifold and French doors.
Shutters are amazingly versatile, and we have used them in a large variety of situations. A little frustratingly we haven’t taken as many images as we should have of some of the amazing installations we have done. So, you will just have to make do with what we have. Special shapes tend to fall into two categories – angled special shapes such as the window we are showing below – where we can really make a feature of the shape but in general the window needs no templating.
The second type are those where templates are needed and these can be a little more elaborate. For these bedroom shutters we used horizontal louvers across the special shape arch to match the louvers in the window below.
This though is not always the case and In this instance we templated around the door and created these fantastic star burst louvers that not only provided the customer with privacy but a real talking point in their home.
Sometimes we combine different types of speciality shutters such as door shutters and triangles. In this case the bottom shutters lead through to Juliet balcony doors, whilst the top shutters are controlled with a light-weight extendable aluminium pole. Here the door shutters open like conventional doors.
One of shutter styles that we specialise in are French door shutters. The beauty of these shutters is that they are actually mounted onto the door and that means you don’t need to open the shutter or fold the shutter back when you wish to exit the room. We shape the shutter around the door handle. We take care and attention to make sure that any side windows are manufactured so that the louvers align perfectly between the windows and doors – in a conservatory, for example, the windows to the side of the doors are not normally floor to ceiling.
It may be that you are looking for shutters to slide out of the way and we offer both bi-folding and by-pass shutters to go over bifold or French doors. In many cases customers also ask us to create louvered and solid panelled cupboard doors for them.
If you are looking for shaped shutters on rooflight windows we can accommodate in most cases as shown below. It really depends on where the manufacturer has placed their handles. If we can’t don’t worry, we have a trade account with Velux.
